Children’s and Youth

At DBC we are seeking to provide a family friendly environment, encouraging children and youth to grow in the faith. Why don’t you stop by with your family!

• SHINE Children’s Worship for 3-12 year olds runs during the second half of the Sunday Church serviced (during the school tem).  The children participate in the service, then go to their program.  SHINE is enthusiastically led by trained volunteers.
• CRECHE runs during the Sunday Service for those children from birth to 3 years.  Come check out the children’s area.
• Youth Activities are held during the school holidays.

MAINLY MUSIC

On Thursday mornings at 9:30 the church livens up during “mainly music”.  The aim of “mainly music” is to provide an environment where young children can develop skills to enhance their early education, through the use of music, rhythm, rhyme, and other music related activities.  Each week, parents and caregivers bring their chil

dren for a thirty minute session of music, rhyme, movement and listening.  The adults participate with the children, encouraging them to enter into the actions and the singing.  After the session, adults and children are given snacks and refreshments.  This allows time for children to enjoy each other’s company, and to develop skills.  It also gives the adults time to meet other parents who have young children, socializing, and supporting each other.  Mainly Music is on Thursday mornings in the Dalkeith Baptist Church hall.  For more information, contact Margaret Ellis (9386 8488) or Jenny Stockdale in the evenings (9381 7878).  The cost is $4.00 for one child or $5.00 for two or more children.
